The North Central LLEN has a range or programs and initiatives to support young people to explore their future, encouraging them to focus on career pathways that align with their interests, equipping them with a range of skills to help them navigate their way.  This currently includes:
  • School to Work program (funded by the Department of Education & Training) incorporating SWL, Broader Horizons, Work Experience and industry engagement
  • Careers Education Partnership (funded by the North Central Schools Cluster)
  • 21st Century Pathways to Careers in Agriculture (funded by the Department of Education & Training)
  • Loddon Campaspe Youth Take Over (funded by Agnico Eagle Community Foundation)
  • Navigator (funded by the Department of Education & Training)

The North Central LLEN currently has the following vacancies within our Careers & Pathways team:

NB. Each of these positions can be applied for separately, or applicants who feel they meet criteria for multiple roles, for more than one.

 TEAM LEADER (o.4 FTE negotiable)
As the Team Leader you will work closely with our Contract Manager and Careers and Pathways staff on the delivery of our current major contracts:
  • School to Work Program (Department of Education)
  • Careers Education Partnership (North Central Schools Cluster
  • 21st Century Pathways to Careers in Agriculture (Department of Education)
  • Loddon Campaspe Youth Take Over (Agnico Eagle Community Partnership Program)
  • Navigator (Department of Education)
Responsibilities will include:
  1. Team Leadership - creating a culture of innovation that will enable our Careers and Pathways team to work to the best of their ability.  This will include a Management role to staff, regular team meetings, and individual performance management for all Careers and Pathways staff.
  2. Innovation - actively involved in looking at ways to improve our work, and identifying “gaps” in our service delivery, working with the CEO and Business Manager to identify new projects and initiatives and securing the funds and resources to make these a reality.
  3. Monitoring and Evaluation – Oversight of all projects within the Careers and Pathways Key Focus area as well as leading the monitoring and evaluation of our Careers and Pathways programs through an Achievement Audit for each of our contracts that enables us to measure our success (quantitative and qualitative) in creating opportunities for children and young people to thrive in education, work and life.
Other duties as directed.

EVENTS COORDINATOR (0.6 FTE negotiable)
​As the Events Coordinator you will work closely with our Contract Manager and Careers and Pathways staff on the delivery of our current major contracts:
  • School to Work Program (Department of Education)
  • Careers Education Partnership (North Central Schools Cluster)

Responsibilities will include:
  1. Event Management - design and delivery of a range of events to meet our contractual requirements, particularly in relation to our new School to Work program and our Careers Education Partnership.
  2. Marketing and Communication – work with the Communications Manager to communicate our events across the region in the lead up to, and following, events to encourage participation, and to promote the outcomes.
  3. Monitoring and Evaluation – manage an achievement audit to lead the monitoring and evaluation of our events which enables us to measure our success (quantitative and qualitative) in creating opportunities for children and young people to thrive in education, work and life.
Other duties as directed.

YTO Connections Officer (0.4 FTE)
The YTO Connections Officers in each of the Loddon Campaspe LLENs will work closely with the Youth Take Over backbone team (Project Director & Communications & Engagement Officer) to develop local place-based responses to support young people toward a long-term pathway/employment.

This will include linking YTO to other relevant programs, initiatives and opportunities in the region and establishing connections with existing place-based industry and networks to progress the goals of the Loddon Campaspe Youth Take Over project. 

There will be four key areas of activity:
  1. Facilitate Take Overs & Events - work with the other LLENs and the Backbone team to identify opportunities, and design and manage the Youth Take Over program within your region, meeting the youth employment outcomes and outputs in our project charter and sponsorship agreement. 
  2. Connect with industry - Find and foster relationships with employers, organisations, education providers, facilitators, mentors and the community to ensure Take Overs have the widest possible impact and success. Collaborate with local agencies and businesses to facilitate YTO events, and build the capacity of communities and employers to run Take Overs themselves in the future.
  3. Supporting YTO participants - Connect with young people currently disengaged from school and work who would benefit from taking part in the Loddon Campaspe Youth Take Over initiative.  Support them to participate in Take Overs and other work-ready activities so they feel better equipped (skills, confidence, resources) to find gainful employment. 
  4. Community of Practice - Work with the other members of the YTO team to consider the long-term impacts of Take Overs and to consider how this model could be incorporated into, or create change in, current youth employment initiatives.
