Landscape a Garden for Animals

ABOUT
The good folk at Edgar's Mission have created a safe space for animals that have had a hard life.

A lot of the staff give hours and hours to caring for these animal friends. Sometimes, it can be beautiful. There are also sad moments as well, like when an animal friend passes away.

Wouldn't it be great if the animal carers had somewhere they could go to reflect, recharge, and do some self-care so they can give the attention to the animals they need?

That's where you come in!
Picture
Create a safe space for the workers of Edgar's Mission to reflect on the lives of their animal friends. We want to build a beautiful memory garden, somewhere you could sit with a nice cup of tea and reflect. Maybe there will be photos of animals, maybe some nice quotes somewhere... what flowers do you think would look best? Do you think it would be nice to have a bench... maybe an outdoor table?

Let your ideas go wild! It's up to you. We want your ideas, your creativity, and your passion to bring this garden to life!

The program will be in person and involve six, 2-hour sessions, over 8 weeks.
WHO CAN JOIN?
This Take Over is great for anyone interested in animals, landscaping, project management, being in a team, having an impact and helping a good cause. The really neat thing about Take Overs is that no experience is required. You don't ever have to have done anything like this before - this is your chance to learn!

We also look for people with an interest in documenting. You might like to take all the photos and videos of the project. A time-lapse would be really cool with this project, and if that interests you, you can put your hand up to film and learn how to edit the videos together with guidance from our team.
Anyone can be a part of this Take Over, no specific skills or knowledge is needed. But... everyone who joins is setting themselves up to be an asset to their future workplaces.

In short, all those who are interested are welcome!
WHAT'S NEXT?
The sessions for this Take Over will run in person at Lancefield. We are currently deciding dates and times, and if you have a preference, you can let us know what you would prefer.

Fill out our sign-up sheet below to get started.

The sign-up sheet doesn't bite! But it does give us some important details about you so we can make sure you get your place in the program ASAP.

If you're the kind of person who finds filling out questions online to be a bit too much, you can always call Amanda from the YTO team on 0448 318 757.

Plus, you can reach out with any questions by phone, text, or email yto@ncllen.org.au

We can't wait to hear from you! Let's landscape a garden!
