BUT JUST WHAT IS A YOUTH TAKE OVER...
...we hear you asking. Well, in short, it's your chance to get some hands-on work experience.
Suppose you're someone at the beginning of your career adventure. In that case, you know of the mind-boggling phenomenon of "entry-level" jobs that ask applicants to already have experience in a similar role. Umm... how do you get the experience... if you need a job to GET the experience? It's bonkers.
In a nutshell, that's why we exist. Because you can't get a job without experience.
But Youth Take Over does more than just upskill you to get a job. Take Over's introduce you to mentors who can show you how they got there. You'll get to be in a team of other young people and realise that everyone is the same as you-figuring it out they go. That's why we call it a career adventure and not a career path. It's not a linear process, and you've got to try a couple of things out. This is the time in your life to give things a go and see what feels right and what might not be for you. You'll get to Take Over a business for 6--8 weeks and see what it's like for yourself. You'll have a career counselling session, so you'll know how to best showcase all the fantastic work you have done--not just in your Take Over, but all of the awesome things you've already done that led you to this moment.
You get to choose what your role in the Take Over will be. Yep, it's a "choose your own adventure."
