VIC VICE

A new virtual reality platform where students can explore the world of work.

VIC VICE – Your Career in Sight is an innovative virtual reality career exploration program that allows secondary students to see, touch and experience different workplaces in an immersive way, without leaving the classroom.

Delivered by North Central LLEN, VIC VICE brings the world of work to life through cutting-edge VR technology. North Central LLEN is one of 31 LLENs across Victoria using the platform and currently operates six VR headsets, enabling engaging, hands-on sessions to be delivered directly in schools. All equipment is provided on-site, with sessions facilitated by experienced staff and supported by structured career learning activities.

During a VIC VICE session, students are introduced to the platform and select one or two virtual industry experiences, depending on time. They rotate through a mix of immersive VR scenarios, industry videos and workbook activities, and can also take part in optional career-focused discussions. Each session concludes with a short survey to capture student reflections and learning.

VIC VICE allows students to step inside real workplace environments and scenarios, helping them build work-readiness skills, increase career awareness and develop aspirations in priority industries. The program provides a modern, engaging response to workforce shortages and the growing skills gap by exposing students to industries they may not otherwise encounter.

Developed by Goulburn Murray LLEN in partnership with VicLLENs, VIC VICE continues to evolve, with new virtual experiences regularly added to reflect emerging industries and workforce needs.

Over the past two years, North Central LLEN’s School to Work team has introduced over 300 students across the region to this immersive technology. Strong participation rates highlight the program’s growing impact and the increasing demand for high-quality, future-focused career exploration opportunities.
